Hosting AGJES 2017 was an experience we wont forget in a while. The event itself was a huge success with participants and visitors from far and wide.

We had a wide range of exhibitors including free stands for ASM gemstone miners, upcoming and established jewelry brands, lapidaries & training centers, mining and gemstone institutes, gemstone, jewelry and mining associations, equipment and tool companies and many more.

I met a lot of amazing people in the sector and the future of African gems never looked brighter!

Amethyst Clustered Neckpiece

I’m absolutely in love with the rich purple color of  the Amethyst gemstone.

I am more in love with the combination of Amethyst faceted stones and gemstone beads in this Neck-piece.

The pendant is created with Amethyst and Quartz set in Sterling Silver. The elegance and beauty of this piece makes me really excited. I also designed this piece with rose quartz and Sterling Silver.

The NGJE 2015 has come and gone.. It was a huge success and thankfully!

We had guests from all over, met so many great people in the solid minerals and gemstone industry.and we sold a number of pieces! 🙂

There were several presentations on mining, Nigerian gemstones and Jewelry manufacturing. The discussions centered on how to move from where we currently are as an industry to the next level. Hopefully we all work together to make that happen! There were a number of interesting ideas and projects we decided to work on…

I’m still really excited for what is to come to the Nigerian Gemstone and Jewelry Industry. It is NOW the real work begins!

Day 2

That’s all folks!

Arewa – The Northern Knot Earrings

By | Blog | No Comments

I remember seeing the Arewa symbol a number of times growing up in the North (Abuja, Kaduna and Niger) and always wondered what it meant.

Recently, the drawing came to mind and from there the MINA STONES Arewa “The Northern Knot”  Earrings was birthed.

Arewa Symbol

The Earpiece was inspired by the Arewa symbol which is also widely known as “The Northern Knot”.
